Lots of Yankee prospects in action in both the Eastern league and AAA All-star games last night.
Down in Trenton, hometown starter Zach McAllister threw a scoreless first to kick things off, and fellow Thunder relievers Josh Schmidt and Mike Dunn contributed scoreless innings of their own. On the offensive side, Jesus Montero went 2-2 after entering the game in the 6th (Keith Law compared his hitting style to one Frank Thomas last night-high praise indeed). Up the middle, Eduardo Nunez and Reegie Corona combined to go 3/4.
Out in Portland, Austin Jackson led off for the International league all stars and contributed with a triple and a run scored, and Zack Kroenke continued his breakout season with a 2 K scoreless inning as well. Kroenke's chances of seeing the Bronx tthis season seem to improve every day.
